Changing or unusual moles may be examined and biopsied to help determine their cause.
Unexplained or suspicious skin lesions may require a biopsy for accurate diagnosis.
Certain cysts or unusual growths may be evaluated when their cause or nature is uncertain.

Persistent or unusual skin infections may require further testing when the diagnosis is unclear.
A skin biopsy may be recommended for other unexplained or concerning skin changes.
